      1. That is a pretty strong statement, and while I can understand the feeling and where that might be coming from, it’s pretty strong without some backup. On another note, it looks like Zambrano will remain in his #7 seat for 2 more years, and Smith has secured his spot for 4. With those results in, I’ll say this now, and you heard it here first… I’ll be vying for position 7 in the 2011 election. It’s apparent that MLT residents like the status quo, so I’m sure it will not be an easy road, but it’s apparent to me that we need some minor changes in the council.More to come on that topic. :)In the interim, I’m happy to see some of the returning faces to our council and congratulate all of them.

        1. For the record, the 2011 election is quite some time away yet, and although I am seriously considering a move toward position 7, it remains at this point a consideration. I realize the above statement may seem pretty clear in its intention, as a blog entry, it was more thoughts and ideas flowing and should not be considered an official statement of candidacy or the statement that I have organized a campaign.nnWhen I make a definite decision, I will make a more formal statement, probably via an article (not blog response) on this site, and will provide all relevant campaign information at that time.nnThank you for your support!

    1. Scott,nSince I am all fro letting people give their opinions on this site, I gave the commenter an opportunity to provide some sort of evidence pertaining to the accusations made against Jerry. They were obviously more interested in slandering him than bringing up any serious accusations. Because of this I have deleted the comment.

  5. It's unfortunate that so many must post comments like that. As I browse the web, reading posts both political and not, the vitriolic statements run rampant. Blatantly racist, slanderous and plain insults with no semblance to conversation.Typically, when those individuals are confronted with another's view and ideals of debate and intelligent conversation, the internet response is typically two words with a total of 7 letters. This kind of behavior is pretty rampant on the internet and should be taken with a bit of salt, as the internet affords us that ability to vent, share and, unfortunately, insult under the protection of anonymity. I don't like the behavior, and it takes away from the legitimacy of a blog such as this, but I have to support the right that unhappymltresident has to post in that manner, and subsequently, his opinion.Since the post did not threaten, use profane language or was otherwise sexually, morally, or ethically inappropriate, I think you should have left it as a centerpiece and catalyst to further intelligent conversation and debate.

  6. After thinking about this more and sleeping on it. I've decided to leave the original comment as it was. I do wish the commenter would continue the conversation but with an obviously fake email address they won't be getting updates unless they come back to visit the site.
