The pool, spa and sauna at the Mountlake Terrace Rec Center will be closed Friday, Oct. 7 from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. so crews can replace a pump at the pool.
City Manager Scott Hugill said during Monday night’s City Council meeting that the pool pump was reported broken Monday. The current pump replaced an old pump about 10 years ago. After the old pump was replaced, it was repaired and kept in stock in case something happened to the new pump. The repaired pump will be installed Friday morning during the pool closure.
All programs that take place in the pool that day will be cancelled, the City of Mountlake Terrace posted on its Facebook page. Recreation staff will call those enrolled in a swimming lesson on Friday to credit their accounts.
The pool plans to reopen Friday, Oct. 7 at 2:30 p.m., in time for Edmonds School District swim team practices, which typically run from 3-4:15 p.m. The leisure pool and river will be open during that time for regular swim.
