Police recover money, guns in drug bust

Mountlake Terrace Police say that one man was arrested and drugs, cash, and firearms were found after a home was searched last week.

Over the course of the last week detectives and patrol officers had been investigating a residence in the 21300 block of 50th Ave W. The investigation began when officers learned that residents were selling the prescription pain killer oxycontin from the home.

Acting as potential buyers, officers made two controlled buys using marked bills.

Detectives obtained a search warrant and served the narcotics search warrant around 11:45 AM on Wednesday, May 25. Several people were at the home at the time. One male in his 20’s was arrested. Recovered in the bust was over $4,100 in cash, including the marked money used for the buy. Officers also seized over 551 grams of marijuana and several firearms that included an AR-15 style rifle and sawed off shotgun.

Detectives are continuing their investigation.
