It didn’t take long for Edmonds police to nab a suspected car thief who led them on a brief pursuit by car from the Edmonds Highway 99 Dollar Store to Mountlake Terrace Sunday night. The suspect bailed from the stolen vehicle “and was apprehended by officers and K9 Hobbs after a brief foot chase through heavy brush,” said Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Josh McClure.
But even if officers had run into trouble, they would have had quick backup at their disposal. The suspect’s location? Next to the Mountlake Terrace Police Department.
McClure said the investigation into the incident, which began at 7:12 p.m. Sunday after an officer noticed the stolen vehicle parked outside the Dollar Store on 236th Street Southwest and Highway 99, is ongoing.
