City-of-MLT-logoThe Planning Commission is scheduled to elect its Chair and Vice Chair at Monday’s meeting in the Council Chambers at the interim City Hall.

The Commission also will be looking at Atwood Commons Planned Unit Development and also continue consideration of Subdivision Code Update

A recommendation to approve or deny the Atworth Commons proposal is anticipated by the Planning Commission. The proposal, located on 56th Avenue between 216th and 218th Streets SW, consists of PUD (Planned Unit Development) with 31 single-family units. Significant issues are traffic, parking lot sizes, and overall aesthetics and appearance. The City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the application on Feb. 2.

The Subdivision Code Update was introduced at the Dec. 8 meeting. Staff discussed the essential features of the proposed new code, which it believes will bring the City’s subdivision regulations in line with current state law and more recent case law concerning subdivisions. A Public Hearing before the Planning Commission is tentative scheduled for Feb. 9.

The meeting started at 7 p.m. and is located at the interim City Hall, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 200, Mountlake Terrace.
