Thirsty? Had a long week (ok…a long day?) Celebrating the soccer team’s big win? Have no excuse and just need to get your drink on? Lucky for you, (and I really mean us,) Mountlake Terrace has several great places to find a tasty, satisfying beverage regardless of the occasion. Though not an exhaustive list, here are a few local spots to sip a cold one and enjoy your night.
Sorelli Pizza
I haven’t quite decided if Sorelli’s (at 22402 44th Avenue West) is a pizza place that just happens to have a full bar with 10 beers on tap (and a wide selection of liquor, too) – or a bar that just happens to serve pizza slices the size of your head. Great for families, teams, and twentysomethings out for lunch on a Saturday, you can’t go wrong if you’re hungry and/or thirsty. Bringing a large party? Call ahead – they take reservations.
Great for: Grabbing a beer with the team after a game – you won’t miss a beat of NCAA or pro action with Sorelli’s 4 flatscreens
Red Onion
I mentioned last week that Red Onion (at 23209 56th Avenue West) was a sit down restaurant with a combo of burgers and beer that couldn’t be better. I didn’t divulge that it’s a perfect launching point for your weekend – no one wants to drink on an empty stomach, and there’s something about a burger that keeps a night of drinking from ending too soon (see: “bar food.”) With 3 Big E beers on tap and a patio that’s perfect for enjoying your late afternoon, Red Onion is a low-key way to kick back and relax.
Great for: A launching point for a long night
Azteca
Azteca (at 22003 66th Avenue West) is known for sizzling Mexican food with high backed booths and unlimited chips and salsa. However, you may want to reconsider what you know them for on a Friday and Saturday night. With $3 wells and similarly priced margaritas and beers, teamed with a specially priced happy hour menu after 9pm, you no longer need to drive out of town to find your destination for the night. Watch the big game – soccer game, that is – on their flatscreens, or giggle at slightly drunk empty-nesters sing songs from the 70’s during Friday night Karoake. It can get noisy, but the prices are low, entertainment value high, and the drinks strong.
Great for: A not-quite-bar experience with cheap food and drinks
Ringer’s
Taking over what was formerly Sharkey’s next to QFC, Ringer’s (at 22803 44th Avenue West) has turned into one of the places to see and be seen in MLT. Not only does this sport’s bar attract those with a need for beer and a game of pool on a Friday night, it also hosts UFC fights on the big screen, and brings in a crowd for pretty much every other major televised sporting event. Also great for running into your ex boyfriend, Ringers draws a young scene – so singles, this is your place. Bring your wing-man (or girl) and a few quarters for their jukebox.
Great for: Watching the fight or big game
O’Houlie’s
Across from Azteca (in case you’ve never seen this little watering hole tucked away in the corner), O’Houlie’s (at 21919 66th Avenue West) is perfect if you’re looking for the full dive bar experience. Need to get drunk and sing karaoke? Need to watch someone get drunk and sing karaoke? Need to just have a few drinks and hope you don’t start acting as drunk as that other person singing karaoke? You’ve found your bar. O’Houlie’s also attracts a young crowd like Ringer’s (and sometimes, the exact same crowd while barhopping) so this is also a great spot to stop by if you’re single. Or, you know, if you’re stalking a hot guy that was at Ringer’s an hour earlier.
Great for: Satisfying your need for attention with Karaoke

Not technically in MLT by a hair, but Ellersick Brewery: https://www.ellersickbrewing.com/
I agree. Though Ellersick is not technically in MLT, they are always involved in community events here and their beer is served at most places on the list above.

Don’t forget about the Getaway! Not the highest class place, but good cheap drinks and plenty of space. Also lots of TV’s (they’re not LCD,but it keeps prices down). There is pinball, pool and pull tabs as well. The food is usual deep fried bar food, but its good for what it is.
And Cinebarre… you don’t HAVE to have a ticket to sit in the bar and enjoy the beers and food… why you would and NOT see a movie is unusual, but you can certainly do it!Canyon’s as well… they have a great set of taps (Big E included) and some pretty kick butt nachos…If you want to slum it a bit, you could always go over to that freaky Sahara place… but, be sure to tell someone where you went in case you go missing.
