The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion’s hot tub will be closed Monday, Oct. 27 for demolition. Workers will install the new therapy pool after demolition of the hot tub is complete.

The City of Mountlake Terrace was awarded a $75,000 grant for building a therapy pool at the Recreation Pavilion from the Verdant Health Commission Public Hospital District No. 2 Building Healthy Communities Fund.

“The new therapy pool will be built in the same location and with the same basic footprint as the old hot tub, which has reached the end of its lifespan,” said Recreation Director Jeff Betz.

A new pool lift will be installed next to the therapy pool that will offer better access for people with mobility problems. The new therapy pool will be made available for physical therapists for their rehabilitation of patients, drop-in customers and for fitness classes. The Recreation Pavilion is located at 5303 228th St. SW.

The Verdant Health Commission serves nearly 240,000 people in the communities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway and portions of Bothell and unincorporated Snohomish County.

For more information on the therapy pool, please contact Recreation Director Jeff Betz at 425–640-3101.
