You probably didn’t need Nickelodeon to tell you the MLT pool is one of the best pools for kids in the area but, nonetheless, here it is:
The Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion’s Aquatics Program was honored with Nickelodeon’s 2009 “Parents’ Pick Award” for Best Swim Class in the Seattle area. The award follows Seattle Magazine’s honor as the “Best Pool for Toddlers” earlier this year. The Pavilion Pool has now received its 6th major award since 2006.
Nickelodeon’s website, ParentsConnect.com, sponsored the competition that ran nationally from May 5 through July 15. The contest invited parents to vote for their favorites in several different categories like “Best Bookstore” and “Best Farmer’s Market” in each major metropolitan area of the United States.
Internet voters had high praise for the program that received the highest five-star rating (great for kids and families). One online comment included, “My grandson loves the Pavilion. We can spend hours together because it accommodates all ages. It is a beautiful facility.”
Runners up for best swim class were Lynnwood Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts, Meadowbrook Community Center and West Seattle Family YMCA.
