The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents the Patty Forte Linna Exhibit at the City of Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Avenue West. Patty Forte Linna finds unique beauty in painting people that are alone in their thoughts, even in a crowd. She also enjoys painting urban landscapes.
Linna admires the work of Edward Hopper because his work evokes strong emotions in her. “I paint from the simple pleasures of life: walks in the park, coffee at a café, quiet corners of solitude, with friends in a restaurant,” said Linna. “It’s within those everyday scenes that I strive to capture a single moment in time, something that is universal to the human spirit, somewhere you can almost hear the conversation and feel emotions long forgotten.”
Linna has won numerous awards for her pastels. She has been a festival poster artist and served as a juror for art festivals. She was one of twenty artists selected by General Motors to paint for the national roll out of their SSR Chevrolet.
The show runs through September 30 at the City of Mountlake Terrace Library, Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
