Paraplegic archer teaches kids at Nock Point

Check out this great story from KIRO radio about a parapalegic archer teaching kids camps at Nock Point Archery in Mountlake Terrace:

At an archery line in Mountlake Terrace, giggling kids line up and grow silent. Tiny arms draw back arrows letting them fly into targets. Balloons, fixed to the targets, explode along with cheers from the kids.

A whistle blows and Bob Hickey gives the kids permission to retrieve their arrows.

Hickey is a commanding but kind presence at “Next Step Archery.” He smiles, he laughs, he encourages. He is in a wheelchair.
