Officer Mike Haynes Selected as New Sergeant

The City of Mountlake Terrace Police Department recently promoted Officer Mike Haynes to the rank of Sergeant. Hired in 2001, Sergeant Haynes has served as a patrol officer, detective, field-training officer, acting supervisor and executive board guild member.

Sergeant Haynes started his public safety career in 1995 with the City of Auburn Police Department as a corrections officer. From 1994-2001, Sergeant Haynes served the City of Brier as a reserve officer, commissioned officer and patrol sergeant.

Sergeant Haynes graduated at the top of his class in both the corrections and basic law enforcement academy.

I am very proud of Sergeant Haynes’ service to the City and the police department. Mike was an exemplary officer, is a well-respected leader within the agency and is known for his work ethic and professionalism. He has the knowledge, skills and ability to be an outstanding leader within the agency.
