Northbound I-5 to close tonight for freeway flyer station construction

The northbound lanes of I-5 will close tonight so that the girders for the pedestrian bridge to the flyer station can be constructed. Lanes will start to be closed around 7 pm and all lanes will be closed by 11:30 pm. The right three lanes will open by 6 am and the HOV lane will open by 10 am.

The northbound on-ramp will be closed at 10 pm.

On Wednesday and Thursday evening, the three right lanes will be closed from 8 pm and will re-open by 6 am.

The detour is significant, heading up to highway 99, so keep that in mind for your travel plans.

See WSDOT’s web site for more info on the detour.

Check out some recent photos taken at the transit center parkng garage, which will ultimately be connected to the freeway flyer station via the pedestrian bridge.
