The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents the Nicole Weimer exhibit during the month of January at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W.
The exhibit features paintings and prints by local artist Nicole Weimer.
“I’ve been drawing and painting since I can remember,” Weimer said. “My parents always supported my passion for the arts, and I consider them my first teachers.”
Weimer grew up in a small mountain town and the high school had no official art classes. She and a few other students got together and, with the help of staff members, started their own art program. After graduation, Weimer attended Colorado State University and spent four and a half years studying fine art with a concentration in printmaking. Since college, Weimer has been painting and drawing and discovered she has a knack for portraits, pet portraits and floral, though, she paints in a variety of styles.
“I find myself very lucky to have family and friends who support me in all of my artistic ventures,” Weimer said.
The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission oversees the library exhibits as part of its mission to promote cultural events in the community. The show runs through Jan. 31 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.
