Work crews installed a new water feature in the Recreation Pavilion pool on Thursday just in time for the summer operating season that begins on Saturday, June 20.
The new flower shower will spray a 10-foot circle in the shallow “zero entry” area of the pool, saidJeff Betz, City of Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks Director. “It will be a nice addition to the pool in time for summer.”
The pool was closed and partially drained on Thursday in order to install the spray toy and apply new coats of paint to existing spray features in the pool. With the entire Recreation Pavilion closed for staff training on Friday, the first opportunity for the public to see the new spray toy in operation will be on Saturday.
Monday, June 22, marks the beginning of daily two-week swimming lesson sessions and training for the Marlins summer swim team, a recreational competitive team for swimmers ages 6-18.
