New playground equipment is coming soon to the Evergreen Playfield Complex, 22205-56th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace.
Earlier this month the city’s Neighborhood Park Improvement Subcommittee, consisting of volunteers who live near each city park, reviewed proposals and narrowed down the choices for new play equipment at Evergreen Playfield. The top three recommendations were then sent to some real experts on play equipment, children attending programs at the Recreation Pavilion.
By an overwhelming vote from the children’s program participants, the top choice was presented to the Recreation Park Advisory Commission who reviewed and approved the final recommendation at its March 11 meeting. Delivery and installation of the new play equipment is anticipated in late spring.
Funding for new playground equipment was provided through a Community Development Block Grant of $50,000 from Snohomish County.
