The intersection of 58th Avenue West and 230th Street SW has been converted from a 2-way stop to an all-way stop.
Two “Stop” signs, two “Stop Ahead” signs, and four “Traffic Revision Ahead” signs were added to the intersection. The Traffic Revision Ahead signs have orange flags attached to them and will stay up for three to six months.
Crosswalks are already marked on all four legs of this intersection. Stop bars will be added on 58th Avenue West and the Police Department is monitoring the intersection more closely for compliance. This type of traffic revision must meet certain criteria and a recent collision at the intersection caused it to meet the threshold for changing it to a four-way stop.
I would like to know what the “criteria” was. I was in an accident a few months before in the same intersection and was told there had been many accidents there through the years. Seems like many accidents wouldn’t have happened if it had been done long ago!!
