Tuesday night was National Night Out, where people in communities all over the country get together to get to know their neighbors, learn about community organizations and city services and try to make our communities more safe. Over 700 people attended this year’s National Night Out event in Mountlake Terrace.
There was a demonstration of medical response teams that was highlighted by a medical transport helicopter landing on the field at Terrace Park School. The helicopter circled the field twice while anxious onlookers waited view the inside of the vehicle.
Displays included a K-9 Team and Humvee from the US Navy, as well as a fire truck and aid car from Fire District 1. The City of Mountlake Terrace had police SWAT members and drug dog on-hand, while Snohomish County provided an Incident Command and Communication vehicle. Several city departments participated with specialty vehicles and equipment and information. Various local businesses and civic organizations were also present to showcase their services.
