MTHS’s Okoronkwo named Gatorade’s Washington State Girls Track and Field Player of the Year

Mountlake Terrace’s Chinne Okoronkwo is Gatorade’s Washington State Girls Track and Field Player of the Year. This is her second year in a row winning the honor.

Gatorade’s website highlights her triple jump distance of 42 feet, 7.75 inches; her pole vault height of 13 feet, 8 inches; and her long jump distance of 19 feet, 3.25 inches–all of which won state titles in 2016.Her triple jump also ranks second nationally, and her pole vault ranks seventh.

Okoronkwo also maintained a 3.92 GPA, is the editor of the school’s yearbook and volunteers through her church.
