With strong efforts from nearly every wrestler competing, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks were able to grab third place at the 11-field Bainbridge Island Invitational Jan. 11.
Three Hawks finished second in their weight classes at the tournament: Taron Castleton (138 pounds), Syd Springberg (170 pounds) and Brett Potter 195 (pounds).
Other top Terrace placements included Gene Ahn (106), Chaplyn Mack (145), Shawn Poole (160) and Taylor Murgallis (285) with 3rd place finishes, Daniel Oliferovskiy (152) and David Marrs (182) grabbing 4th place finishes, Taylor Heatherington (126) earning a fifth place showing and Kevin Massey finishing sixth in the 152 lb. weight class.

The MTHS wrestling team returns to dual meet action on Thursday, Jan. 16, traveling to Shorewood High School to take on the T-Birds beginning at 7 p.m.
