MTHS student hit on way to school Thursday

An 18-year-old Mountlake Terrace High School student was hit by a vehicle while crossing 44th Avenue West around 7 a.m. Thursday morning on her way to school.

Edmonds School District spokeswoman DJ Jakala said the female student was transported to Swedish/Edmonds. Preliminary reports indicate the student had a possible sore leg, she said. She is now at home recovering, and the injuries were not major. The driver was cited by Mountlake Terrace police for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
