The Mountlake Terrace boys swim team opened their season with a big splash, defeating Everett 87-57 at Forest Park Pool in Everett on Tuesday.
Hawks Armen Nalbandyan, Wyatt Allemann and Sam Armentrout led the team with two victories each in individual competition. Nalbandyan won the 100 Meter Butterfly and 100 Meter Backstroke events, Allemann placed first in the 200 Meter Freestyle and the 500 Meter Freestyle, and Armentrout finished first in the 100 Meter Breaststroke and the 200 Meter Individual Medley.
Mountlake Terrace beat Everett in two of the team relay events, the 200 Meter Medley and the 200 Meter Freestyle.
The Hawks (1-0) will face Stanwood in their next meet, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Lynnwood Pool at 2:45 p.m.
The Mountlake Terrace girls basketball team didn’t find the same success as the boys swim team on Tuesday, as they lost at Edmonds-Woodway to the Warriors 61-50. The Hawks (1-2) will play for the first time this season at home on Friday against Meadowdale at 7:15 p.m.
