Two Mountlake Terrace Hawk prep golfers, senior Mike Jenson and sophomore Riley Williams, are being spotlighted in the June edition of the Athlete Highlights poster sponsored by the school’s Sports Booster Club.

Jenson, a four-year letterman for the Hawk boys golf squad and three-time WIAA State 3A Boys Golf Tournament competitor, was selected for the honor by Coach Tom Gorney.

“The key to Mike Jenson is his leadership, compassion and willingness to make everyone around him feel comfortable,” Gorney said. “He is a perfect role model for the young and older players on the team. He is much better than most of the players we have had during his four years, but he is patient with his teammates and always working to make them better golfers.”

Williams was chosen for the Athlete Highlights by Terrace girls golf Coach Mike Gugich.

“Riley Williams is a very hard worker and is a pleasure to have as a member of our girls’ golf team,” Gugich said. “She is a supportive and kind presence on the golf course and is supportive of her teammates. This season she has developed into our best player and had postseason success. She along with her teammates all qualified for district play.”

The Athlete Highlight posters for the month of June can be seen around town at select businesses and community centers.
