With a finish in the top 10 at the 3A Wesco girls golf tournament on May 8, MTHS sophomore Sydella Yonker has punched her ticket for the 3A District 1 Tournament scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, May 14-15, at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.
“I’m really excited for my season to extend, even it it’s only for another week,” Yonker said.
Yonker shot a 92 at Jackson Park Golf Course in the Wesco championships, good enough to tie for sixth in a field of more than 50 golfers. The rest of the Hawks struggled on the par 72 course in Seattle; the squad finished in a tie for eighth in the 10-team field.
“The season has been a blast this year and I couldn’t ask for a better team,” Yonker said. “I’m very proud of everyone that plays with me and my coach is awesome and super supportive.”
