The Mountlake Terrace High School Music Department is presenting two special nights this week to entertain music lovers and honor veterans.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, the MTHS Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 bands will be providing the music for the 2nd Annual Swing Dance & Veterans Celebration; the event is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Mountlake Terrace High School HUB. In addition to performances from both bands, the event includes swing dance lessons, swing dance performances, a silent auction and desserts for sale.
“We will also spend a portion of the night recognizing veterans and encourage all veterans in our community to come and be celebrated for their service,” said MTHS Music Boosters President Sherrill Leppich. Attendees wishing to honor a veteran not in attendance may bring a photo to be displayed at the “Table of Honor.”
Admission to the swing dance / veteran celebration event is $5, but free for all veterans, who are encouraged to attend the event in uniform.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, the MTHS concert band will present a concert of music to honor veterans in the high school’s theater. Admission is free.
