MTHS graduation week begins with Senior Awards Night

Merten and Donnelly were two of dozens from the Mountlake Terrace High School Class of 2016 that received scholarships, honors and awards at the school’s Senior Awards Night ceremony Monday night.

Graduation week for the Mountlake Terrace High School Class of 2016 got underway Monday as the school held their Senior Awards Night where dozens of upcoming graduates were recognized with honors, awards and scholarships.

MTHS Principal Greg Schwab announced the Class of 2016 Valedictorians and Salutatorian at the conclusion of the ceremony. The five Valedictorians — with perfect 4.0 grade point averages for their four years at the high school — are Jensen Beaumont, AsiaLee Donnelly, Paxtyn Merten, Jonathan Thiem and Katherine Walter; the MTHS Class of 2016 Salutatorian is Gene An.

The MTHS Class of 2016 Graduation Commencement is set for Friday, 6:30 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium; admission is by ticket only.
