The Mountlake Terrace High School girls basketball team found the going tough in their first game of the Edmonds Summer Shootout basketball tournament on Friday night falling to Issaquah 49-15.
The Summer Shootout brings 47 varsity teams together for three days of high school girl hoops at Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood, Meadowdale and Edmonds Woodway high schools. Games continue through Sunday.
Terrace will return to its home court for a 10 a.m. game Saturday morning against Kent-Meridian. The Hawks will also play an afternoon game against an opponent and at a time to-be-determined.
Other notable results from the first day of the Edmonds Summer Shootout include wins by the other Edmonds School District squads: Meadowdale beat West Seattle 32-29, Lynnwood crushed Roosevelt 43-14, and Edmonds Woodway got past Newport. 63-43.
In other action it was Blanchet over Shorewood 38-28, Shorecrest defeated Cascade 37-24, Glacier Peak routed Ballard 49-27, and Kings pulled off a shocker, knocking off last year’s 4A state runner-up Arlington 43-42.
