MTHS Drama Department to present story of frontier life with ‘Quilters’

The Mountlake Terrace High School Drama Department invites theater lovers on a journey into frontier life in the American West with three performances of Quilters starting on Thursday, Nov. 21.

The musical follows the lives of a pioneer woman and her six daughters, portrayed by a cast of nine Mountlake Terrace student thespians. Through a series of short tales, all accompanied with a quilt patch, the show depicts the joys and struggles encountered by the women throughout their lives.

MTHS senior Rhiannon Aguilar plays Sarah, the matriarch of the pioneer family; other cast members in the production are Sarah Acheson, Hannah Fisker-Andersen, Ash Little, Sage Gennings, Haley Morris, Ella Seavers, Peja Shymko and Anabelle Sumera-Decoret.

Performances of the MTHS production of Quilters are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-23, at the Mountlake Terrace High School theater; showtime is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for high school students with valid ASB cards and children and will be available at the door.
