MTHS, Brier Terrace Middle sending nearly 50 students to technology conference

Mountlake Terrace High School and Brier-Terrace Middle School will be well represented this week at the 30th annual Washington Technology Student Association State Conference in Bellevue. The conference, which includes speakers, displays, activities and competitions, begins Thursday.

Eleven students from Mountlake Terrace High School will be attending the conference, while 31 students from Brier-Terrace Middle School will attend. This year’s conference is its biggest ever, with more than 500 students from 42 schools from across Washington state participating.

MTHS students attending the conference are AsiaLee Donnelly, Joey Owens, Haeley Johnston, Jessica Phung, Wyatt Parks, Erik Hogg, Emmarie Moore, Jonathan Theim, Connor Ebright, Paxtyn Merten and Kathleen Cram. The 31 BTMS students are Jeremy Ansdell, Maddy Caiola, Angeline Cartwright, Benito Chacko, Kira Doan, Emma Dortsch, Astra Downer, Brandon Elias, Riley Gerow, Wessly Hyde, Matthew Johnson, Alex Joo, Nick Jordan, Mitchell Kaminski, Brandon Kim, Jacob Largent, Adam Lorraine, Connor Loyles, Hannah Marshall, Alex Mellen, Josie Morris, Justin Ong, Daniel Orsborn, Jake Peters, Russell Presho, Gavin Scott, Bukari Sakil, Alex Simkowiak, Frank Simmons, Natalie Sutton and Becca Toby.

With almost 40 other students from Alderwood, College Place and Meadowdale Middle Schools, a total of 70 students from the Edmonds School District will be attending the conference.

The Technology Student Association is a nationwide, non-profit organization whose purpose is to help prepare students for careers in science, technology and engineering through motivation, activity and competition.
