Two bands from Mountlake Terrace High School returned from a weekend trip to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with awards for group and individual performances.
MTHS Jazz 1 and the Chamber Winds performed at the Music in the Parks competition on June 3. Jazz 1 placed first in the jazz ensemble category and received an “outstanding performance” honor, while the Chamber Winds picked up a second place award in their classification. Outstanding solo awards were given to jazz band students Taylor Griffin on piano and Henry Sparks on trombone.
Following the music performances, the students were given the opportunity to enjoy the fun and thrills of Silverwood theme park.
