Mountlake Terrace High School Jazz 1 is one of five area high school bands that will perform at Starbuck’s Hot Java Cool Jazz concert at the Paramount Theater in Seattle on Friday, April 25. The performances begin at 7 p.m.; general admission tickets are $20.

MTHS Jazz 1 recently returned from the Savannah Swing Central Jazz Festival and Competition earlier in the month where they earned third place in the national event. Other bands performing at the Hot Java Cool Jazz concert on Friday are from Ballard, Bothell, Garfield and Roosevelt High Schools, all award-winning programs.

“This is an electric and energizing night of wonderful performances by five area high schools,” noted MTHS Music Boosters President Sherrill Leppich. “Please come and support your local performing students at this very fun evening of great music. MTHS has been the crowd favorite over the last few years, getting standing ovations by the crowd attending.”

The Paramount Theater is located at 911 Pine St. in downtown Seattle.
