Community Service: I volunteered as a tutor at the Community Homework Center at Terrace Park School. I also have volunteered at food organizations like Food Not Bombs and the Food Drive. Key Club is a community service based organization that I have been involved with since my freshman year. Through Key Club, I have been able to volunteer my time for things like our stuffed animal, toiletry, and glasses drive, making blankets for children in nearby hospitals, and helping under-privileged families ensure they have money for food and presents during the holidays.
Significant School Project: Through my involvement in many school activities I’ve had the opportunity to work with many school projects. Those have ranged from the mock election my AP European History class organized and the many events ASB puts on like homecoming and assemblies to the food drive that raised over 25,000 cans.
Current Employment: I work at Fitness 19 in Mountlake Terrace as a kids’ room attendant.
Future Educational Goals: I want to attend a four-year university after graduating from high school. My schools of interest are University of Washington, George Washington University, and Boston University. I hope to major in political science or international relations. I hope to continue on to graduate school to earn a law degree.
Future Career Goals: I am interested in working in politics or law for human rights. I would love to work for an organization like Human Rights Watch or even the U.N.
Anything else we should know? By taking advanced classes and being the most involved I can be in school activities, I have learned what it is I am interested in. This has really helped shaped the person I am today. I am incredibly grateful for the amazing staff and advisers that have encouraged and guided me in my high school career.
