When the Mountlake Terrace High School students of the Technology Student Association (TSA) return from a national conference next month, one will be toting a little extra in her suitcase.

Haeley Johnston has been selected to receive the 2014-15 Technology Student Association Dr. Bob Hanson Distinguished Student Award. Johnston will be presented with the award on stage at the national TSA Conference June 28-30 in Dallas, Texas.

The award is named after Dr. Bob Hanson, a former member of the Competition Regulations Committee of the national TSA organization. The award is presented to a TSA student member based upon valued service in the organization and within his or her community.

“This is a really great honor for Haeley,” said MTHS Principal Greg Schwab.

Johnston was recently elected to serve as the Washington Technology Student Association President during the 2015-16 school year after serving as the group’s Vice-President this year.
