Mountlake Terrace upsets 2nd ranked Marysville-Pilchuck

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks won a winner-to-state playoff game against Marysville-Pilchuck on Tuesday evening at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Marysville-Pilchuck, who entered the game being ranked 2nd in the state, left the game as the latest opponent in Terrace’s string of 3 shutouts.

Mason Kelley of the Seattle Times has more:

After tossing a two-hit shutout in Mountlake Terrace’s 7-0 victory over second-ranked Marysville-Pilchuck in the Northwest 4A District baseball tournament Tuesday, he wasn’t standing for long.

Woeck’s teammates flooded out of the Everett Memorial Stadium dugout, burying the senior in sea of red, white and black uniformed teenagers. Other than the catcher’s mask digging into his shoulder, it was the perfect end to a pristine outing.
