Mountlake Terrace Swears in Police Officer Brian Vanderwerff

Officer Brian Vanderwerff took his oath of office administered by Police Chief Greg Wilson during Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Raised in Shoreline, Officer Vanderwerff brings 15-years of previous police experience from the cities of Arlington and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. He attended Biola University in La Mirada, California where he earned his B. A. Degree in Intercultural Studies. While with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Officer Vanderwerff was one of the County’s first detectives assigned to investigate internet crimes against children.

“Officer Vanderwerff brings with him a tremendous amount of experience and a reputation of dedication and service. We look forward to his contributions to the department and the community,” said Chief Wilson.

At the swearing in ceremony, the City Council, Officer Vanderwerff’s wife, Suzanne, and several members of the police department offered congratulations.
