Mountlake Terrace swears in new police officer

Mountlake Terrace Police Chief Greg Wilson administered the oath of office to new Police Officer Troy Williams Jr. during Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Williams was born and raised in New Orleans, La. He served as a Police Officer for the City of New Orleans for five years. Officer Williams was a member of a proactive taskforce, narcotics unit working side by side with the FBI, and gang taskforce.

“I’ve put away some violent offenders in my short career,” Williams said.

Williams was happy to make the lateral move to Mountlake Terrace to move closer to family that lives in Edmonds.

“I look forward to sharing my experience with fellow officers and to better my career,”he said.

“Officer Williams comes to the department with excellent experience. We look forward to his contributions to the department and community,” Wilson said.
