Local Boy Scout troops offer curbside pickup and drop off locations through a program called Operation Dry Needles.
Troop 61 will have drop-off service available on Saturday, Jan. 3 and Sunday, Jan. 4 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Troop 61 will be collecting trees at the following locations: Albertson’s 4301 212th St. SW, MountlakeTerrace and Roger’s Market, 23120 56th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Troop 535 will be offering pickup service on Saturday, Dec. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 3. Please have your tree curbside by 8 a.m. Flocked trees cannot be accepted. For more information call John at 425-481-6025.

Waste Management will accept Christmas trees in the regularly scheduled curbside yard collection as long as they are free of flocking, tinsel and ornaments, cut in pieces less than four feet long and less than four inches in diameter at the base.
Local composting facilities offer recycling services. For more information search 1800recycle.wa.gov or dial 1-800-RECYCLE (1-800-732-9253) to find composting facilities in your area.
As a last resort, you can drop your tree off at the transfer station for $5 each. For more information, call 425-388-3425.
