The Mountlake Terrace Police Department is informing the public that a resident reported that someone attempted to lure her 11-year-old daughter into his vehicle while she was walking home from Mountlake Terrace Elementary School on Friday, Oct. 16.

The incident happened about 4:20 p.m. when the girl was contacted by a white male with brown hair driving a blue BMW vehicle.

The 11-year-old girl told police that she was walking home when the male asked if she needed a ride or if she was lost. She said that she told him no and the male drove away. The girl added that she became scared and hid in some shrubs. Shortly after the male in the BMW returned, he exited his vehicle and looked around the area. The male eventually left and the girl safely ran home. No license plate number was obtained.
