Mountlake Terrace police commander on leave after being arrested for DUI in February

Mountlake Terrace Police Department Commander Don Duncan was arrested by the Washington State Patrol on Feb. 1 for driving while intoxicated, according to a news release issued by the City of Mountlake Terrace Wednesday, April 9. Duncan has now been formally charged by the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office with DUI.

Duncan was arrested at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the Lake Stevens area on Feb. 1, the news release said. He was operating his personal vehicle at the time. He was placed on administrative leave from his commander post following his arrest and remains on leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Duncan has been with the Mountlake Terrace Police Department for approximately 18 years. He was promoted to his current commander position in June 2012.

Duncan is one of two commanders within the Mountlake Terrace Police Department serving under Chief of Police Greg Wilson and Assistant Chief Pete Caw.
