Mountlake Terrace police blotter: Sept. 30-Oct. 6

A ladder and fertilizer spreader were stolen from a property in the 5800 block of 237th Street Southwest.

A suspicious person was reported going through the dumpster near the 4300 block of 212th Street Southwest. He was contacted and told not to return to the property.

Oct. 1
A couple reported their window broke in the 21500 block of 58th Avenue West. The male resident said he saw a rock fly through their window and land on the floor just inside. A suspect was seen in surveillance video wearing a white t-shirt and driving a red or orange car. The victim believes he knows who threw the rock. Officers attempted to contact the suspect but were unable to locate him.

Oct. 2
Scratches on a vehicle were reported in the 24300 block of 53rd Avenue West. The vehicle is brand new and the owner said she did not see the eight-inch scratch there earlier that day. She said she has had several incidents of harassment, including the air being let out of her tires and daggers found on her front lawn, and she believes they are all related.

Oct. 3
Three windows were reported broken at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School on the north side of the gym. Rocks were used to break the windows.

Oct. 4
A burglary was reported in the 23500 block of 55th Avenue West. Both the front and back doors were secure, but the bedroom window was open “wider than usual” and the screen was on the ground in the back yard. Nothing appeared to be rummaged through, but the resident’s 605 Taurus .357 firearm was missing. Two other guns in the room were not taken. A resident said the only person who knows where the gun is kept is his homeless son.

Oct. 5
A vehicle prowl was reported in the 23600 block of 56th Avenue West.

Oct. 6
An assault was reported in the 6000 block of 244th Street Southwest. A caller reported a man assaulted a woman in that area. Officers arrived and found a man and woman there, but the man did not fit the description of the man who the caller said assaulted the woman. Both the man and woman at the scene explained a third man, who did meet the description of the alleged assaulter, had gotten into an argument with them. They said the argument was verbal only. Both parties said there would be no further problems.

A classroom window, containing two panes of glass, was broken at Mountlake Terrace Elementary. It is unknown what object was used to break the windows. No entry was made to the building.

An assault with a weapon was reported in the 6300 block of St. Albion Way. A man had a temporary protection order against a woman there. He told her, and she threatened to beat him up. She also produced a knife and he felt like she could have used the knife against him. She was arrested for felony domestic harassment.

A vehicle parked at Cinebarre had been hit. The suspect left a note on the victim’s windshield, but there was no writing on it.
