July 28
A broken window was reported at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School, room 13. Swabs of blood were taken for DNA analysis. Latent fingerprints were found on a fire extinguisher and entered into evidence.
July 29
A burglary was reported at a Mountlake Terrace residence. A bicycle, stored in a locked closet, was stolen.
A vehicle prowl was reported in the 22800 block of Lakeview Drive. A bicycle was stolen from the back of the victim’s vehicle. A small rear window had been shattered.
July 30
A chainsaw was reported stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked outside a Mountlake Terrace condominium. There was no damage to the truck and nothing else was missing.
A vehicle prowl was reported in the 21000 block of 44th Avenue West. Loose change and a box of silver coins were stolen.
July 31
A burglary was reported in the 24000 block of 54th Avenue West. A box containing several pieces of expensive jewelry were taken off of a dresser drawer in the bedroom of a residence. Gold and silver coins were also inside the box.
A burglary was reported in the 5200 block of 212th Street Southwest. A woman said she was responsible for feeding her friend’s cats while he was away on vacation. When she arrived at his house, she noticed his house was in disarray, as though someone had been staying there while the man was out of town. Dirty dishes were strewn about the kitchen. Nothing appeared to be taken.
A burglary was reported in the 6700 block of 220th Street Southwest. A front window had been broken out of a building there. The victim was unsure if anything was taken.
A burglary in progress was reported in the 6600 block of 220th Street Southwest. An officer located a suspect, who was later confirmed using surveillance video. The suspect said he was just trying to warm up. Surveillance video showed him taking a lock box. When officers asked why he took the lock box if he just wanted to warm up, he said he thought it would be nice to have in his house and did not know it contained money. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for burglary.
A vehicle was stolen from in front of a Mountlake Terrace residence.
Aug. 1
A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 4700 block of 212th Street Southwest.
An identity theft was reported at the Mountlake Terrace Police Department. The victim said she noticed several charges on her bank statement that she did not authorize, including an online transaction for $25 and a transaction at Home Depot in Puyallup for $200.
Aug. 2
A fraud was reported at the Mountlake Terrace Police Department. A victim came into the station to say she received two letters from Safeway stores in Spokane, saying she had written checks that bounced. She said she doesn’t write checks and those checking accounts do not belong to her. The checks were for $169 and $152. Safeway said they may have surveillance video of the transactions.
A physical domestic dispute was reported in the 22100 block of 60th Avenue West.
Aug. 3
A hit and run was reported in the 7000 block of 220th Street Southwest. No suspects or leads at this time.
A bike theft was reported in the 24100 block of 57th Place West. The bike was last seen on their property on July 31. The suspect left a different bike in its place.
A vehicle theft was reported in the 4900 block of 226th Street Southwest.
An attempted residential burglary was reported near the 5500 block of 224th Street Southwest. A resident said she saw a man running past her front door, then again at the back door a few minutes later. She talked to the suspect who said he had belongings in the house, but the resident did not recognize him. He did not make entry to the residence. An officer later spotted someone matching his description walking in the 5500 block of 224th Street Southwest. The officer told the suspect to stop and he ignored the officer. The suspect kept walking after several orders were given. Eventually he hopped a fence into a yard and ran away. The victim was contacted again and told to call police if he comes back. The officer’s dash cam video showing the suspect was placed into evidence.
Aug. 4
Officers responded to a physical domestic dispute in the 22200 block of 48th Avenue West. Two male roommates got into a fight after one hosed himself off of the backyard after doing some yard work. The other roommate was so upset by this that he took a dresser drawer and hit the victim over his head with it. The suspect denied this. The suspect was booked into the Lynnwood Jail.
A theft was reported in the 22100 block of 66th Avenue West. Three bicycles belonging to the resident’s children were taken from in from not of his residence. He said his kids told him they had locked the bikes to a bike rack, but the resident could not verify that. The bikes were worth $550 total.
