Mountlake Terrace police blotter: July 1-7

Officers responded to a fraud in progress at a bank on 21900 block of 66th Avenue West. A man was trying to deposit a forged check. The suspect had left before police arrived. Photos of the suspect were pulled off of surveillance video.

July 2
A vehicle was stolen from the 22700 block of 58th Avenue West.

A vehicle was stolen from the 4400 block of 216th Street Southwest.

A vehicle theft was reported in the 24200 block of 48th Avenue West. A firearm was stolen from the center console of a truck.

July 3
A vehicle prowl was reported in the 21300 block of 48th Avenue West. A spare tire and check book were stolen.

July 4
A disturbance was reported in the 5300 block of 232nd Street Southwest. A man reported that his son, who was not supposed to be there, was banging on the door. Garbage cans and a grill were knocked over in the back yard of the residence. The son ran away before officers arrived. He was not located.

A woman who was apparently on drugs was reported in the backyard of a residence in the 23000 block of 58th Avenue West.

July 5
A physical domestic disturbance was reported in the 22300 block of 42nd Place West. A woman asked her father to put her 5-year-old son to bed. Her father declined and so she cursed at him and grabbed him by the collar. She also scratched him and attempted to bite him. He got his keys and left. Officers had contacted him at a different location. The officers then responded to the woman’s residence to contact her. They observed that she had a strong odor of intoxicants on her breath and her pupils were dilated. She also had scraped on her knees as though she had fallen on pavement. She was taken to the hospital to be treated and released. She was then arrested for assault. Her grandmother took custody of her son.

July 6
A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 5500 block of 215th Street Southwest.

A court order violation was reported in the 4100 block of 212th Street Southwest. A woman called to report her husband, who is not supposed to have contact with her, came into her apartment and passed out on her couch. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

July 7
An incident of fraud was reported at a dentist office in Mountlake Terrace. The dentist said a man came in and said he had just come from the airport and was having a dental emergency. The dentist examined him and saw that he did have dental issues. The man then said he had to be somewhere for a meeting but wanted the dentist to fill out a Percocet prescription. He also wanted to pay for the office visit with what he said was his girlfriend’s debit card. He did not have any ID on him. The dentist refused to fill out the prescription or use the debit card because he found it suspicious that a man would not have an ID if he just came from the airport. The man eventually left without paying.

A resident in the 22800 block of Lakeview Drive reported his car had been scratched on the hood, rear fender and driver door, and that a rear tire had been flattened. Gouge marks were also found in the windshield, both door windows and the rear view mirrors.

A door was smashed in on a van parked outside a residence in Mountlake Terrace.

A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 23300 block of 52nd Avenue West.

A vehicle was stolen from the 22800 block of Lakeview Drive.

A fireworks complaint was reported in the 5000 block of 236th Street Southwest. Smoke and recently detonated fireworks were found inside a portable bathroom at that address.
