Mountlake Terrace police blotter: Aug. 19-25

Aug. 19
A resident in the 7000 block of 226th Place Southwest reported eggs had been thrown at the front of her house.

Aug. 20
A package was reportedly stolen off of the porch of a Mountlake Terrace residence. USPS tracking shows it was delivered, but when the owner came home, it was not there.

A resident in the 22100 block of 48th Avenue West called police to report a large knife found in her front yard. It had a black blade that was approximately six inches long and had rust on it, like it had been outside for a long time. The knife was submitted into evidence.

A fire extinguisher was discharged on the fifth floor of a multi-family residential building in the 5500 block of 224th Street Southwest. A package that had been opened near a front door was also found in the area. It is unknown what was taken from the package. The carpet was not damaged, but will require deep cleaning.

A vehicle theft was reported in the 24100 block of 52nd Avenue West.

Aug. 22
A theft was reported at a store in the 22800 block of 44th Avenue West. Three items were taken. Three suspects were seen on surveillance video taking the items. The video was entered into evidence.

Aug. 23
A stolen vehicle was located in the 5000 block of 212th Street Southwest.

Aug. 24
A burglary was reported in the 6000 block of St. Albion Way. A storage locker had been broken into and a window fan was stolen.

A theft was reported in the 21200 block of 52nd Avenue West. A man said he plugged his phone and portable batteries into the wall at a nearby laundromat to charge, then walked across the street to do some shopping for approximately five minutes. When he returned, his phone and batteries were missing.

A vehicle was stolen from the 4400 block of 212th Street Southwest.

Aug. 25
An attempted vehicle prowl was reported in the 21700 block of 66th Avenue West. A business owner said someone apparently attempted to take the wheels off of a vehicle there. The vehicle had been jacked up on blocks, but everything was intact. An abandoned bicycle was also spotted in the area.

A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 21500 block of 48th Avenue West.

A suspect wanted on outstanding warrants was spotted near 66th Avenue West and 220th Street Southwest saying he did not know where he was. He gave officers a false identity, then when confronted, confirmed his real identity. He was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
