Mountlake Terrace police blotter: Aug. 10-17

A burglary was reported at the Nile Country Club in Mountlake Terrace. A storage room door had been pried open and several items were stolen, including leaf blowers.

Aug. 11
A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 22500 block of 57th Avenue West.

Aug. 12
A vehicle crashed into a bicyclist on 224th Street Southwest. The cyclist was riding along the Interurban Trail and was crossing the street at 224th Street Southwest. A vehicle likely could not see the cyclist behind a large bush and the cyclist did not wait for the vehicle. Neither vehicle had time to stop. The cyclist had a scraped leg and declined going to the hospital. The vehicle had a broken windshield. The bicycle had bent rims.

A burglary was reported in the 23500 block of 56th Avenue West. The latch to a back window was broken and a chihuahua puppy was stolen.

A burglary was reported at a Mountlake Terrace residence. A laptop the resident uses for work was taken, along with rings and $5 in change.

Aug. 13
A vehicle theft was reported in the 21400 block of 48th Avenue West.

A theft was reported in the 5600 block of 219th Street Southwest. A scooter worth $150 was stolen out of a front yard. Surveillance footage was available showing a suspect taking the scooter. The suspect was cited for theft.

Aug. 14
An assault was reported in the 6000 block of 244th Street Southwest. A woman said a man she knows but does not have a relationship with assaulted her. She said it began as a verbal dispute, and then it escalated and she encouraged him to punch her in the face. He then grabbed her and pushed her into the wall. She had visible injuries. The man was contacted and was arrested for assault.

A verbal domestic dispute was reported in the 22600 block of 56th Avenue West.

Aug. 15
A vehicle prowl was reported in the 4200 block of 236th Street Southwest. A drill and some mail were taken.

A woman was arrested for DUI in the 21100 block of 44th Avenue West. She was seen driving with several flat tires. An officer initiated a traffic stop and smelled alcohol. The driver failed several field sobriety tests. She later took a breath test and blew a 0.286 blood alcohol concentration. She was taken to the Snohomish County Jail.

Aug. 16
A collision was reported at the intersection of 220th Street Southwest and 64th Avenue West. The vehicle moving westbound on 220th Street Southwest turned left onto 64th Avenue West, crashing into a vehicle that was moving eastbound on 220th Street Southwest. The driver said he had a solid green light, not a green arrow. No one was injured. Both vehicles were damaged.

Aug. 17
A vehicle prowl was reported in Mountlake Terrace. The vehicle’s owner said a backpack was taken along with about $5 in coins.

A man came into the Mountlake Terrace Police Department to turn in several fireworks he found in his garage. He said he forgot he had them and they are no longer legal. They were entered into evidence to be destroyed.

Around wallet was turned into the Mountlake Terrace Police Department.

A vehicle prowl was reported in Mountlake Terrace. The vehicle’s owner said she parked the vehicle in her driveway and several items, including two wallets, were missing.
