The following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.
Sept. 4
6300 block of 232nd St. SW. Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. A man reported that his 101-year old grandmother was smoking opium inside his residence. The man said it is part of his grandmother’s culture to smoke opium and people think of it as a medicine not a drug. The grandmother allegedly was receiving the drugs from the man’s parents. The drug was tested but police were unable to get a positive result. Further testing was ordered.
Sept. 6
21200 block of 44th Ave. W. Theft. A man reported the theft of a jacket that he left on the seat of his motorcycle while he went into a business. The man’s wallet, car keys and other items were in jacket.
Sept. 7
5800 block of 228th St. SW. Theft. A drill was stolen from a residence. The suspect likely entered the garage through an unlocked side door.
22300 block of 70th Ave. W. Malicious mischief. The tires on two vehicles from a business were slashed.
Sept. 8
23500 block of 58th Ave. W. Impound vehicle. A car with British Columbia plates was impounded.
Sept. 9
4400 block of 216th St. SW. Theft. Two bicycles were stolen the rear porch of a residence.
Sept. 11
6000 block of 244th St. SW. Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Police arrested a man for possession of heroin at a motel.
