MLT police shieldThe following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.

June 27

6500 block of 228th St. SW. Theft from auto. A woman was arrested for vehicle prowling, theft and possession of heroin.

June 28

22800 block of 44th Ave. W. Theft – Shoplifting. While driving past the front doors of a grocery store, police observed three men walking quickly away from the front of the store and heard a store employee ask the men if they wanted to pay for that stuff. The men began to run and police detained the suspects, two of which admitted they stole from the store. Police returned the stolen property. The store manager declined to pursue the matter with police.

June 29

22900 block of 72nd Pl. W. Assist Other Agency. Mountlake Terrace Police assisted on a possible DUI accident in Edmonds.

6400 block of 222nd St. SW. Attempted residential burglary. A screen was removed in an attempt to gain access to a house. The suspect was confronted by the homeowner and fled the scene. Lynnwood K-9 units arrived but were unable to track the suspect.

4300 block of 236th St. SW. Theft – Vehicle auto. A Honda Civic was stolen from the parking lot of an apartment.

June 30

22600 block of 44th Ave. W. Fraud. A woman told police she believed she was the victim of identity theft after having trouble filing her tax return. She filed a police report for documentation purposes.

4700 block of 216th St. SW. Impound vehicle. A Ford Explorer with an expired Montana license plate was impounded.

July 2

21200 block of 44th Ave. W. Warrant Service/Assist Other Agency. While on routine patrol, police pulled over a vehicle after observing the driver talking on the cell phone while driving. During a check of the driver, it was discovered he had a felony warrant. Police arrested the man.
