MLT police shieldThe following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.

April 30

7100 block of 226th Pl. W. Theft. A garbage can was stolen.

May 1

5600 block of 232nd St. SW. Theft from auto. A firearm was stolen from a vehicle.

5900 block of 236th St. SW. Malicious mischief. Someone vandalized a hand-painted flag on a large piece of wood displayed in front of a house.

May 2

22200 block of 56th Ave. W. Harassment. An umpire and a spectator became involved in a verbal argument. After the spectator refused to leave, the umpire decided the game would be forfeited and called the police. At that point, one of the members of the teams started arguing with the umpire and made what the umpire viewed as threats. The umpire went to his car to wait for police and said the team continued to heckle him. Police talked with the spectator, who claimed the umpire started the argument and went into the crowd to argue.

6800 block of 226th St. SW. Malicious mischief. Graffiti was reported on a fence.

May 3

4000 block of 212th St. SW. Theft from auto. A woman reported the theft of a toy and two electric drills from her unlocked vehicle that was parked in front of her apartment. Another woman reported the theft of a cable box and speakers from her car, which suffered a broken front window.

May 4

22300 block of 53rd Ave. W. Theft from auto. A woman reported the theft of two business magnets from both sides of her vehicle’s front doors.

22500 block of 52nd Ave. W. Burglary. Two wheelchairs, an extension cord, three lampshades were stolen from a house. In addition there was damage to the drywall in two rooms.

21800 block of 54th Ave. W. Theft from auto. The front license plate of a vehicle was stolen,

May 5

6400 block of 220th St. SW. Assault. A City of Mountlake Terrace employee alleged that a woman walked up to him and struck him in the back with her fist and told him that he needed to move his vehicle out of her parking lot. The suspect, who owns a business in the complex, said that the victim parked in her parking space and she walked over to him to talk to him but he could not hear. The victim was wearing earplugs and he admitted that the mower he was using is loud. The suspect said she hit the victim’s back with her hand to get his attention and said that it was not a very hard hit. Both parties declined to pursue the case.

May 7

4500 block of 214th St. Suspicious circumstance. A furnace cleaning telephone salesman became very persistent and aggressive with a resident. The caller then started to discuss sexual matters before the resident hung up the telephone.

22800 block of 55th Ave. W. Theft from auto. A man’s backpack was missing from her car. The passenger side window was broken.

May 8

6000 block of 244th St. SW. Accident. A car collided with a tree.
