The following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police Blotter.
Aug. 21
4800 block of 212th St. SW. Malicious mischief. A store owner reported a window was smashed out. Nothing was stolen and no entry was made.
5900 block of 232nd St. SW. Humane. A man in the vacant field in front of the police department was flying a remote controlled drone type of device. The man directed the drone to fly close to a police vehicle, hovering over the main parking lot area near the garage on Aug. 18. The same man directed the drone to fly above a police officer walking to the station. Police felt the man seemed to be targeting officers specifically.
Aug. 22
4100 block of 214th St. SW. Theft. A person reported that someone entered his car and removed the contents of the glove box. Most of the contents were stacked on the passenger seat but a pair of sunglasses and $3 in change were missing.
Aug. 25
23500 block of Lakeview Dr. Theft. A vehicle was stolen from a parking lot. Both plates were still on the vehicle.
21900 block of 52nd Ave. W Theft. A bicycle was stolen from a front porch.
23000 block of 41st Pl. W. DUI. Police responded to a report of a truck hitting something. A vehicle was found parked along side the road with front end damage. A man was found inside of the vehicle wearing a polo shirt and underwear only. On the ground were several beer bottles. Police knocked on the window and woke up the man. Asked why he wasn’t wearing pants, he replied that they were wet from doing the ALS challenge. He denied having consumed any alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests the man was arrested on investigation of DUI. Later the man blew a .087 on the breath test.
Aug. 27
5700 block of 232nd St. SW. Humane. A dog was reported running at large. The dog was familiar to one officer. The owner was issued a written infraction.
23600 block of 58th Ave. W. Paraphernalia. Police assisted the fire department, who responded to a report of a woman having a seizure in a car. The woman was found to have a used needle with residue and a lighter.
21600 block of 56th Ave. W. Malicious mischief. A resident’s reported that his house was egged and it has been an on-going problem. This time he reported his vehicle was egged.
Aug. 28
22600 block of 39th Ave. W. Found property. A resident found a large truck box tool box containing various tools. Police logged the box and its contents into the station.
5000 block of 236th St. SW. Theft. The theft of a soccer goal was reported. The theft possibly occurred between Aug. 27 at 7 a.m. and Aug. 28 at about 7 p.m.
