The following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace Police blotter.
Aug. 9
Interstate 5 and 236th St. ramp. DUI. Police assisted Washington State Patrol in arresting a man exiting I-5 at the 236th St. ramp. The driver was arrested for a DUI in front of Nile Golf Course.
4400 block of 212th St. SW. Theft. A man reported a stolen bike from the bed of his truck in an apartment complex parking lot. The bike was a KHS make.
Mountlake Terrace Park and Ride Transit Center. Theft. A 2005 Ford Explorer was reported stolen from the Mountlake Terrace Park and Ride Transit Center. Police reports indicated that security cameras recorded the theft.
Aug. 10
21200 block of 44th Ave. W. Shoplifting. Police responded to reports of shoplifting at a grocery store One of the suspects had an outstanding warrant, and was arrested after the K-9 dog track found him hiding in the bed of a truck.
23000 block of 56th Ave. W. Theft. A woman reported several personal items stolen from her vehicle. She told police her wallet and her Samsung Galaxy S3 Cell Phone were stolen.
6000 Block of St. Albion Way. Theft. A man reported his 1997 Honda was stolen outside his home.
Aug. 11
23000 block of 46th Ave. W. Burglary. A woman reported what she believed to be an attempted burglary, after noticing several open entry points. Police did not believe a burglary had taken place and the owner did not report any stolen items.
21900 block of 66th Ave.W. Police responded to a man and woman who were fighting outside of a bar. No injuries were reported.
MTPD assisted Brier PD in a case involving a man who crashed a stolen vehicle into a pole. When the man crashed the vehicle, he fled on foot. Neighbors called 911, and police responded to the site. Officers found and detained the man. An ambulance was called, but the suspect told officers he was injured and refused medical treatment. Officers checked the license plates and found the car was stolen from a Mountlake Terrace man.
Aug. 13:
4300 block of 212th S. S.W. Employees at Albertson’s called police after a woman was seen shoplifting. Employees told police they saw the woman hide alcohol in her purse. Officers followed the woman to her car, where the woman showed them the two tequila bottles she had taken. Officers said the woman was a known shoplifter.
Aug. 14:
22000 block 52nd Ave. W. Mountlake Terrace Elementary called police to report a broken window. Police believe vandals used a rock, which was found inside Room 20.
