The following are selected incidents from the Mountlake Terrace police blotter.
July 14
22300 block of 70th Ave. W. Theft auto. A van with a flat tire was reported stolen from a business.
22500 block of 58th Ave. W. Mental info. A woman told police she was being shocked by the electricity in her house. The woman initially called Snohomish County PUD, saying she had a power outage but later changed the story to the house electrocuting her. Police were concerned about the woman’s mental welfare and recommended she be referred to the Community Paramedic Program.
5500 block of 220th St. SW. Burglary. A woman said someone entered her condo and stole her purse. The victim reported that her rear sliding glass door was open about six inches. She was certain the door was locked.
July 15
21500 block of 60th Ave. W. Ordinance violation. A transient camp was discovered by police. There are three to four campsites east of 60th Ave. W. in a large wooded area that runs near I-5. Dozens of large rats could be seen roaming through open garbage pits.
21400 48th Ave. W. Burglary. A woman invited an acquaintance to stay overnight at her apartment. The next day the woman reported her apartment key was missing and she also discovered multiple prescription medicines missing as well as jewelry and groceries. The victim believes the acquaintance stole the items.
July 16
5500 block of 240th St. SW. Domestic. Two individuals got into an argument.
July 17
4300 block of 214th St. SW. Theft. A woman reported the theft of her iPad. The woman said that an ex-boyfriend stayed at her place to feed her pets. The day after she returned from a trip she noticed her iPad and a keyboard were missing. When she talked to her former boyfriend, he said he was using it for training at his job. The man later said he pawned the iPad for $186 and wouldn’t be able to pick it until later. The woman told the man she was going to file a police report unless he returned the iPad by a certain day and time. Police talked to the man, who said he had the iPad in his possession and would give it back to the woman later.
23500 block of Lakeview Dr. Overdose. A 26-year-old woman collapsed at a park. Medics administered some medication and the woman became more alert. She was transported to the hospital. Needles, some with a brown residue, were found in the woman’s purse.
Suspicious circumstance. A woman said that an internet service salesman contacted her about signing up for service. She set up an appointment and provided some personal information, including her social security number for a credit check. She later unsuccessfully tried to contact the salesman and contacted the alleged company he was working. The company said they did not have anyone working under the salesman’s name. Police suspect the woman was the victim of fraud.
4500 block of 216th Pl. SW. Domestic. Two women got into a verbal argument.
6000 block of 244th St. SW. Weapons violation. A man shot himself in the leg. The man said he was cleaning a gun when it went off striking him in the leg. He said he did not think that the gun was loaded because he never keeps a round in the chamber. The gun was confiscated. Medical personnel arrived and treated the man’s injury. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
22300 76th Ave. W. Assist other agency. Mountlake Terrace police assisted Edmonds police with a loud party complaint.
There has been a camp site at 21500 block of 60th Ave West for about 15 years.. Now that it is for sale someone cares??? go figure
