Mountlake Terrace man and daughter injured in go-cart accident

The Spokesman-Review reports that a Mountlake Terrace man and his 8 year-old daughter were injured in a go-cart accident in Diamond Lake, WA over the weekend.

[box]A father and daughter were flown by helicopter to a Spokane hospital on Sunday afternoon after the go-cart they were riding in crashed at an off-road vehicle track in Diamond Lake, Wash.

The Hammerhead Go Kart driven by Peter T. Johnston, 40, of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., vaulted off a jump at the Jorgens Road track and rolled over, ejecting Alexis D. Johnston, 8, and partially ejecting Johnston, according to the Washington State Patrol. The vehicle came to rest on the girl.

The two were taken by MedStar to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Peter Johnston was discharged later Sunday and Alexis Johnston was in satisfactory condition there.
Neither of them was wearing a helmet. No charges were filed in the accident.[/box]
